Conference Session
Russell Ackoff: From Russia, With Affection

Presented by Felix Tarasenko

Abstract: Russell Lincoln Ackoff has passed away from us into eternity. And, this is a heavy loss not only for his relatives, friends, pupils, colleagues and professionals in areas of his interests. The whole humanity lost one of its most advanced members, who strained every effort to push forward human mentality and self-understanding, and to improve its practical endeavors. Each of Russ’s ideas and actions was a step forward in development of our view of the world, elaborating understanding our place and roles in it, perfecting our interactions with environment. This is why he exerted so strong world-wide influence on so many aspects of our life. He was one of greatest thinkers and practitioners of the last century in issues of problem solving, that is to say, – of  the single and universal  form of any human activity.   Join in for a session of remembrances of Russ from one of his greatest collaborators in Russia.
