Beginning with our 15th Annual Forum, we will host an annual day-long session dedicated to the exploration of shared mental models. Scheduled on the third day of our Pre-Conference sessions, The Dialogic Sessions will provide a space for presenters and attendees to engage in an ongoing dialogue on shared mental models and how they impact organizational effectiveness.
Under the direction of Ravi Roy, professor of Public Admininstration at Southern Utah University and also Research Fellow in Public Affairs for the W. Edwards Deming Institute, the general purpose of "The Dialogic Sessions" on Shared Mental Models is to create a highly focused annual dialogue on shared primary tenets, principles, and beliefs that simultaneously includes a subset of distinct strands or divergent mental models (secondary tenets, principles, and beliefs). As designed, the format of this session includes the identification, discussion, and development of an improved common or shared understanding of mental models, including, but not limited to, W. Edwards Deming's "System of Profound Knowledge."
In 2017, our second year, our presenters will focus on "Shared Mental Models: to be determined."
Contact Bill Bellows and Ravi Roy, organizers of this annual session, if you have questions about The Dialogic Sessions, including how to participate in future events.
