Creating the New Normal in Project Leadership
Presented by Don McAlister

Description: The difference between Project Management and Project Leadership is that Project Leaders understand the importance of skillful integration of the art and science aspects of their work.  In this session we’ll explore ideas, beliefs, skills, practices and tools that will help Project Managers develop and integrate their art and science skills to create a new normal in project leadership.

Target Audience:Those looking to pursue a career in Project Management, and current Project Managers looking for ways to achieve more success and fulfillment in the profession.

Organizational Issues:Traditional Project Management training, tools, practices and selection criteria emphasize leadership science over art.  Although both are necessary, in my experience, greater awareness and skillful application of leadership art is what ultimately determines project success and personal fulfillment.

Objectives: My objective is to provide a new approach to Project Leadership and lay a foundation for those seeking to become better Project Managers by sharing ideas, and practices for integrating artful leadership with management science.
