About Our 2013 Forum

Our 12th Annual Forum, set for June 19-23, continues to expand "thinking about thinking," raising the consciousness of better thinking in individuals and organizations. Link here to learn about our previous Forums, as well as our Forum history.

Our 2013 Forum will be co-hosted with Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, the Department of Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Management, and the Ernie Schaeffer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the College of Engineering and Computer Science, California State University, Northridge.

During his participation in our Forum in 2005 and 2006, Russ Ackoff reminded us of the need to reflect and often discover “the enemy is us,” that is, the system that “we” are part of, contribute to, and maintain, is not “them,” it’s “us.” In selecting this year's title, our focus is on the art of reflecting (on the system) and how this effort can lead to a new sense of connections, new inspiration, and new actions.

Our 5-day Forum begins with 3 days of Pre-Conference sessions on

June 19th, from 7:00am - 7:15pm,
                          June 20th, from 7:00am - 4:15pm,
                          June 21st, from 7:00am - 4:15pm

with 18 sessions to choose from. All, except for one session, N - What We're Learning About the Brain, are being offered without any fee to attend. Add to this schedule our Weekend Conference (on June 21st (6:00pm) - June 23rd (12:00pm), for a registration fee ($350 before May 8th) and the result is our 5-day Forum.

As designed, our 2013 Forum aims to promote an environment where compelling ideas and insights will evolve from an exposure to new thoughts and open minds. (And these ideas and insights may lead you in untold exciting directions in your work and life after the Forum.)
