Meaningful Business Design: In Service of the System
Presented by Tim Parsey and Elizabeth Topp

Description: In this pre-conference workshop we will explore the idea of meaningfulness and specifically play in this space within the context of business and the workplace. We will share how businesses and organizations are adding meaningfulness to every aspect of their current business models for competitive advantage in a 21st century business environment, and consider ways of enhancing meaningfulness in your own company or organization.

Elizabeth and Tim are co-founders of shiftalliance, a start-up with the aspiration to help companies reach their highest potential in the context of the next paradigms in business using the of Meaningful Business Model Design™ process.

Meaningful Business Model Design™ (MBMD) is for business leaders seeking to acknowledge and address the interconnectedness of individuals, communities, and the earth in the 21st century.  Specifically MBMD supports organizations to bring best practice meaningfulness activities into all segments of their business through the application of 230 “meaningful best practices”.  These “meaningful best practices” inspire companies to shift and holistically create more meaningful value, resulting in brand equity, increased consumer demand and employee effectiveness. Engaged and loyal employees, consumers, and communities support a healthy and profitable enterprise that benefits all stakeholders.

Meaningful Business Model Design™ defined
A Meaningful Business Model is guided by a vision and mission that addresses the interconnectedness of a business and all of its stakeholders and resonates with the core values of all stakeholders. It aligns the core assets of the business with a genuine need in the market and society which is emerging or persistent in a way that is meaningful to its employees, consumers, communities and the earth.

Meaningful Business Model Design matches the true essence of a business’s people (their skills, knowledge, values and personal fulfillment), with empowering processes, respectful infrastructure (facilities and equipment), and a product or service offering that creates meaningful value for its consumers and stakeholders.
